Russell C. Younkins (1922-2008)

My grandfather, Russell Younkins, passed away this morning at the age of 85. Growing up, we lived right next door to my grandparents, and I have lots of great memories from their house. Recently he had been pretty sick and unable to do the things he wanted to do...so through my tears I will remember that today he's walking again - with his Savior. Thanks for all the popsicles, Pap.

Mommy and baby

I got to go and visit baby Mckenna just hours after she was born!!! Tuesday morning, Whitney woke up around 4 and thought her water had broken...at the hospital she found out it didn't break, but they decided to keep her and induce her (because of her high blood pressure and preeclampsia). Mckenna was born at 11:06 AM! She is beautiful!! Congratulations Whitney and Brian, I am so happy for you!!!!

Best Husband in the Whole World

Let me tell you a little bit about why I have the best husband in the world (and this is by no means all inclusive)!! First of all I will say this has been the craziest last week for me and I really don't know how I could possibly be sane right now without Jason!!! Starting last Thursday, when I started feeling SO sick...coughing, fever, and chills...I felt horrible; so Jason hurried home after work, stopped and picked up dinner, and took the girls outside for the evening so I could rest. Then on the weekend (after I got back from my friend Jessica's shower/bacholorette weekend) Jason continued to take care of the girls, he made dinner, AND did about 4 million loads of laundry (that is only a slight exaggeration.) He is just the best husband ever and I am so blessed to be married to him!!! He was also so great about the fact that I had to leave him again Monday for a meeting and then again Tuesday to go meet my new baby neice! Thank you so much honey!!!! I love you!!!!!

Six Mile Mark

Yay!!! Today we reached the 6 mile mark in our training for the half-marathon!!! This is the farthest I have ever run in my life! It was pretty exciting even though we were getting rained on all morning! I can't believe that we are going to be running 13 miles in less than 2 months!!! Crazy!!!

Thinking Back

Wow. I really can't believe that I have 2 two-year-olds. Or how fast this time has gone. Last night, Jason reminded me that 2 years ago (last night) we were watching "Las Vegas" (its funny because I'm the one that always remembers that moment) with my feet propped up on the edge of the love seat; not knowing it would be my last night before becoming a mom. The next day is such a blur in my mind: at breakfast I was getting ready for a bridal shower and by dinner I had two babies in the NICU. The six weeks that followed while the girls remained in the hospital, seemed like years. And yet, to think back now, I can hardly remember. I know that Makenzie and Kendall are amazing blessings from God and I am so grateful that He has given me the opportunity to know them, care for them, and love them while we are here. I can't wait to see what Year 3 holds.

Year Two in Review

Hey my little girls. I know I am a stranger here but I do love you so much. I hope someday you will know this. It has been absolutely wonderful these last two years. You have been through so much with us. You have given your mom so much to hang on to in the ups and downs of our move and have given me so much to look forward to every night. I love you more than you know. Happy birthday beautiful ones. --Daddy

Alex's Photo Shoot

Well, I finally got my new lights that Jason got me for Christmas set up (and experimented with my camera settings) so I could take some pictures of our super cutie friends!!! It is Alex's first birthday this week, so this "photo session" was for him, but I also got some adorable pictures of Miss Holly too!!! I was actually really pleased with how they turned out (I hope you like them too Katie!)
