Riding and Running

We spent some time this morning out on the tricycles - the girls did great!!! They even love their helmets!
They ended up getting off their bikes to run...just like Mommy they say! They were so cute. They ran pretty much from here to Trish's house, walked a little, then ran the rest of the way home! Its funny how much they love to walk and run...earlier this week we did the entire 1 mile loop to get the mail (they were soooo tired when we got back!) They are very proud of themselves though!

Visit with Pappy and Mimi

We visited Mimi and Pappy this week and the girls got a chance to ride their jeep! They are so funny - Kendall is pretty content just to let Makenzie drive!
The girls also got to visit with their cousin, Mckenna, or "Kenna" as "Kenzi" and Kendall like to say!! They were excited to see her!

Just a night playing with our friends! Makenzie and Kendall LOVE their swingset (hint, hint Daddy!!!)
This is Kendall's "ta-da!" after swinging on the trapeze/rings!
Holly is such sweet friend to push the girls!
Everyone had their own swing!
Cutie pie Alex took a long nap, so he just got to join us!!!

Canoe Creek Triathalon

Last Saturday Jason (and my friend Tiff) completed a sprint triathalon!!! They did so great!!! Jason was most worried about the swimming part, but he did much better than he even hoped!! He finished just about at his target goal of an hour and a half!
Katie and I ran in a 5K while the triathalon was going on. All the serious runners must have been in the triathalon, because Katie and I both won a metal!! I didn't care that I may not have earned it...I wore my metal around all day!!!!!

The girls wanted to run like Mommy and Daddy!!!

Congratulations!!!! Jason has already started training for his next triathalon, and crazy enough, I have decided to run in ANOTHER half marathon!!!!! Back to the crazy running schedule!

Wyldlife Trip to Rockbridge

Last Thursday, I came home from a week at Rockbridge Young Life camp in Virginia. I took a group of local middle school girls for one of the best weeks of their lives!!! They had a blast! I managed to avoid the zip line and the blob (I had to take pictures, you know). I was super tired (I left at 7 AM the morning after Sally & Andrew's wedding) - but it was a good tired! I would post more pics of the camp itself, but most of my pictures I had to download onto Tim's computer to make room on my card!! Trust me, it was beautiful! (I hadn't been there since 1997 --- my little Emily (farthest on the right) was only 1 year old at that time!!! Wow, I'm getting old fast!)

Our 5th Anniversary

Lyndsay and Jason - August 9, 2003
Today is our fifth wedding anniversary!!! Its hard to believe; time has gone by so fast!!! Jason and I got married at my parents house along the river (both the ceremony and reception.) It rained all day until about 5 o'clock; just enough time for the groomsmen to dry off the chairs before the ceremony started at 5:30. The rest of the night was beautiful and went so fast! The last five years have been exciting for us - we spent the first half or so in school (Jason in dental school and myself as a teacher and coach), and then we had the girls, graduated from grad school (both of us), bought a house, bought a practice, and now here we are! I think that I have THE greatest husband, the girls have THE greatest daddy, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us!!!

The Bridal Party: (L to R)
Brandi (Jason's sister), Alyssa (my college friend), Hannah (my high school & college friend), Erica (my college friend), Jessica (my high school friend), Whitney (my sister), Hannah (my youngest cousin), Merrisa (Jason's cousin), Davey (Jason's brother), Josh (Jason's brother), Andrew (Jason's college friend), Tyler (my brother), Kenny (Jason's cousin), Brad (Jason's college friend), Charlie (Jason's college friend), Andy (Jason's cousin)

Playing Dress-up

Lately the girls have been requesting to play all day in their leotards - today they went all out with tights and leg warmers. You can see Makenzie wearing my old majorette leg warmers (the gold sparkle thing) on her arms - she loves anything with sequins! We danced around to Hannah Montana for a while (Makenzie's favorite song is Nobody's Perfect) and then they pretty much just played the whole day like this. (Makenzie at one point changed from a black leotard to a pink one). Oh, they just crack me up!!!

Throwing Stones

Just a few quick pics from a visit with my family when my dad was home...the girls love to throw stones in the river. The first one is my dad with Kendall, and below is each of the girls throwing a rock. Here is a pic of the girls with their Uncle Tyler...he saved them from the scary waves that were hitting the dock after a boat went by!!

Visit to the Farm

Sally has several farms in her family, so while we were visiting for the weekend, Lauren and I thought it would be fun to take Caed, Makenzie, and Kendall to see the animals. The farm is a large dairy farm, but they also had pigs, sheep, and baby chicks. I supposed I shouldn't have been shocked, but Makenzie was scared to death! She wasn't loving the calves we visited first (she clung to Sally the entire time), but when we headed to the big barn with the big cows, she really started to lose it. Of course, while we were standing at the edge of the barn watching a mommy cow and her brand new baby, the farm dog started barking and that mama cow rammed right into the gate where we were standing - it was then the true crying started. Kendall, on the other hand, LOVED it...except for the part when her shoes got "muddy" in the barn - (if you ask her about it now, she will tell you the whole story including how Kenzi didn't like the cows and Aunt Sally had to wash her shoes). It was very interesting to say the least (especially when I spotted a snake in the chicken coup.) I think Kendall will have to visit her next farm with Daddy.

Kendall waving to the brand new calf (it was born just minutes before we got there)!

This was as far into the barn Makenzie would go.
